In software development, complexity means cost. So it must be fought!
In all our consultancies, we repeat the maxim exhaustively that complexity is cost. So it must be fought!
Transforming business through digital resources implies the development of these. The development of digital resources means the management of three distinct sources of cost complexity:
- domain – the business problem you are trying to solve.
- technical solution – then techniques and the technologies that one wants to employ to solve the problem;
- legacy – the existing digital processes or resources that, for some reason, will be preserved.
Of the three categories of cost complexity we are proposing here, we understand that only the one related to the domain is well understood by people who are not in the technology. Therefore, we know that [tweet]the only category of complexity (or cost) that the business understands and is, of course, willing to pay is related to the domain.[/tweet]
